Airports and transfers to Walt Disney World

So you're here because you are wondering what the airport transfers to Walt Disney World are like and what airport you should be flying into. Well, read on below:

The airport you should really be booking your flights to is to Orlando International Airport. From there you can get the free Disney Magical Express service which will take you to Disney if you stay on site. You can also drive to Disney from the airport, get a taxi or use the Lynx buses.
·     The Disney Magical Express service is located on the B-side of the Main Terminal, on the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1), at Commercial Lane spaces B42-B47. Magical Express is provided to Guests with reservations for Disney's Magical Express arriving into Orlando International Airport regardless of time of day. Luggage delivery service provided by Disney's Magical Express is available for flights arriving between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm daily. For airport arrivals after 10:00 pm, Guests may collect their luggage at Baggage Claim and transport it with them on the motor coach. The luggage delivery service means guests can tag their bags with Disney tags and it is transported to their hotel free of charge by Disney cast members and you can go straight to the parks when you arrive. The transportation service takes approximately 45 to 75 minutes and up to 3 stops can be made before arriving at your resort. Your bags will be at your hotel up to 3 hours after check in. Take any valuables or medication with you in your hand luggage. This service is also available to the airport - please ask the hotel for specific instructions. You should be ready to leave 4 hours prior to the departure of your flight when leaving.
·     Lynx Transport - These are the public buses in Orlando and you can use these to get to Universal studios if you wish. From Orlando International Airport, Lynx bus 111 departs at 6:00 to 22:30 (6:30 to 21:30 on Sundays and holidays) Travel time to downtown is approximately 40 minutes, to International Drive approximately 60 minutes, and to Walt Disney Worldapproximately 75 minutes, at a cost of $2.00 per person for each destination. ·     Taxi - Taxis may carry up to 9 passengers, and charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers.  Metered rate may vary from the approximate rates quoted below. Approximately $60 to $70 each way or cheaper for a round-trip.
·     Driving - The cost can be quite high for this and certain carriers such as Virgin offer this for free in their packages. Make sure to get a satellite navigation system as well. The drive is about 45 minutes to the heart of Walt Disney World.
If you fly into Orlando’s Sanford airport you can either rent a car, get a taxi or you can ask if your airline offers a paid shuttle service to Walt Disney Worldas some do offer this. Many charter carriers fly into Sanford airport to keep costs down.
