Walt Disney World Fastpass System

Many different theme parks in the world offer a Fastpass system that allows you to skip the queues and get to the ride when you want to but this system is often clumsily implemented. At Disney, however Fastpass is a lifesaver. Rule number one to remember is that every single person that enters the park with a ticket can get a Fastpass - everyone. Rule number two is to remember that Fastpass is free - it is included in your admission price. Children under 3 do not need a Fastpass to enter.
You should use Fastpass as a way of getting to more attractions in your day and being able to queue less. Not all rides in the park offer the Fastpass system; usually it is only the rides that get extremely busy. When you get to a Fastpass ride at the entrance, you will see two clocks; the first clock tells you how long you would wait if you got in the queue now - the other tells you the Fastpass distribution time - this time is the time you should return once you have obtained your Fastpass. Go to the ticket machine near the ride and put your admission ticket inside it, do this for each person who is going on the ride (each person needs to use his or her own ticket). Your ticket comes back and you are given a Fastpass that tells you what time you should return. Now go off and explore the other attractions while keeping a lookout for how long it is until your Fastpass time starts.
Once it's time to ride, enter through the Fastpass queue line and be sure to have your tickets and Fastpasses ready to show the Cast Member at entry. Further on down to line you will have to give your Fastpass to a Cast Member.
The system works by essentially entering you into a virtual queue and estimates how long it would be until you would reach the front on the line - this is the time it gives you on your ticket. Fastpasses do run out especially on popular rides even by Midday.
